Sarai Aquil is a town and a nagar panchayat in Kaushambi district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census[1], Sarai Aquil had a population of 15,719. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Sarai Aquil has an average literacy rate of 48%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 55%, and female literacy is 39%. In Sarai Aquil, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. Chairman of nagar panchayat is Mr. Virendra Pratap Jaiswal.It is a ancient nagar panchayat in Kaushambi district , famous for its different types of market such as clothes, vegetables, grains, electronics, cosmetics, goldsmiths, domestic animals market (biggest and oldest market in district and its near by)and many more temples like jain Temple,Hanuman temple,Durga mandir in sarai akil.And Shiva Mandir(old appx 300 yrs) in Fakirabad constructed by forefather of late Pt shri BODHAN RAM MISHRA who was one of the head of this ward.And one more temple is situated in Fakirabad at the east corner very famous Shri Hanuman Mandir thousand of pilgrims are used to visit this mandir everyday.Tuesday is especial for this temple.
